Amari Watergate Bangkok

For the Bangkok shopaholics, you will definitely go to the famous Platinum Fashion Mall at Pratunam and you will definitely see a big orange board that says Amari. Of course, there are chances you might not see it because you are too engrossed with shopping.

So, I finally stayed at Amari! There is nothing much about the room I can comment on so just see the photos below! Room is a grand deluxe.

The services though, are commendable. From the people replying my many e-mails, to the front desk, to the house-keeping, to those standing outside the doors to help us get taxis.

First, they are prompt in replying e-mails and during the stay, they e-mailed me for feedback. So we reported that the kettle was dirty and by the time we reached our room (probably less than 2 hours later), we received a letter at the doorstep with apologies. Unless they had received so many complains about the kettle, I would say the letter was personalised. The following day after the house-keeping, the kettle was changed and a letter along with a box of chocolate was left on the bed.

The downside of this issue though, is that it would be better if the amenities are being checked properly before customers check in. Kettles for both rooms were dirty and the one in the other room actually leaks. However, they didn't change it for the other room and we did not report this problem as it was already our last night.

Amari also e-mailed me for feedback survey after the stay, actually read and reverted, instead of the usual "thank you for your feedback."

Staff at front desk were friendly and helpful, a totally different experience from the other hotel further down the street. House-keeping team never fails to greet us and give us a smile when we see them along the corridor.

Staff at the doors (sorry I don't know how else to refer them. Bellboys?) will always greet us with a smile and ask if we need taxi. One staff (Mr. Thovachit) actually ran towards us to help us with the luggage as we were heading for checkout. He gave us a slip with his name and to review at tripadvisor.

The concierge helps to mail out postcards and you can buy stamps from them too. Saves a lot of hassle! I'm not sure if other hotels offer this service and this is definitely a plus point!

I understand that Amari is a certified green hotel and hence, drinking water are provided in glass bottles. However, guests are mostly tourists and weather in Bangkok is terribly hot. It will be much appreciated if there are bottled waters for guests to bring out!

Services here are definitely two thumbs-up!
