Just by looking at the design of this hotel, how would anyone not think of wanting to go there for a staycation?
Park Royal at Pickering had always been at top of the list of "Hotels to go staycation at". We finally made it happen and didn't even think about reading the reviews.
The hotel is easily accessible with MRT and is near CTE. There are so much things to eat around the area that it is worth another post (but I'm not a good food blogger so I shall not attempt to).
The design of the room is interesting but it was weirdly dry. We had to request for extra drinking water and lotion. The housekeeping staff were fast in response and friendly. We requested for an extra lotion and they gave us the whole set.
There ain't much view from the swimming pool and the individual pods are pretty good to chill and enjoy some privacy. The pool was crazy cold for a hot afternoon. It was quite disappointing that thelre was a rally (or sort) going on right opposite the pool, at Hong Lim Park. So there's not much chill to talk about.
The sauna room is located in the toilet near the spa and locker keys are with the spa staff, who are at the negative scale of service. Why are most of them so unfriendly (refer to Fullerton post here)? Do they only serve spa customers and don't give an effing care about the rest? I digress.
All in all, Park Royal at Pickering is not the hotel for a chillax weekend staycation. The price we paid is probably because of the location. Architecture is gorgeous but no point paying that amount of money to view it (unless you are a designer or architect, I guess).
