The Berkerley Hotel Pratunam

I would like to apologies for the odd white spot on one of the photos as I have to cover out our travel mate in the photo and I am merely using some simple photo editing app. I don't have other alternative photo so... *looking away*

Before drafting this post, I had browsed through some of the reviews of The Berkerley Hotel Pratunam from TripAdvisor (where most of you got linked to here, I trust). I'm surprised to see that many people commented that the services were great. At the same time, I'm glad to see that we were not the only people to get terrible services (I won't be able to believe that we were so unlucky).

So yes, terrible services. Foremost, NO AIRPORT TRANSFER AVAILABLE. As quoted from their official website, ".. offers a true 5-star experience..". Bullshit. Fine, we can take our own taxis and I'll leave that.

Next, the front desk seems to be operated by robots who have no ability in public relations and follows a manual. No expression, no feelings and is terribly incompetent in understanding English. My good-natured friend got pissed off by them when they told her to "just buy (bottled water) from convenience store" when she requested for extra. There are definitely better ways to handle this request.

On our third day, they actually deactivated the room card for one of our rooms as they thought we were checking out. That was incomprehensible.

Horrendous services apart. For the good things now! :)

Location, good. 15 minutes walk (we walk slow) from Platinum Mall (shopping haven) and Central World. There are a lot of hotels that are nearer to these two malls nonetheless, this is OK. Not near BTS though.

Rooms are decent too. We booked a suite and a twin beds room. Spacious with all the necessary amenities provided.

Photos of the twin beds room. The bathroom includes a bathtub where you can open the windows (?) and watch TV in the room.

Suite room. There's a small coffee table and sofa at the entrance. A wardrobe and dressing table in front of the bathroom.

Should the services be better, I will come back here in a heartbeat. The price was not outrageous in my opinion.
